Woodwork, barges, lasers, optimists and anything else that might cross my path.
Claudia has knocked up a pair of doors to fit the holes in my wall. The wide door with the central posts will get glass panels so that Polo can look through and convince someone to let him in. [remember Puss in Shrek2 ?]
The spray painted doors and drawer fronts have been hung and we're done in the kitchen too.
We've been finishing things off aboard 'Ora et Labora' these first weeks of the year, while waiting for this year's clients to get here through the ice. Here are the bedroom cupboards finished and ready for painting ... and doors.
Here is Em with her guitar tutor Ajith Hultink. Have a look and listen on www.ajith-hultink.nl.
Brrr. Cold this morning, minus 12 at Groningen airport. The ice is getting thicker. We'll be here for a while then.
With this year's clients stuck in ice instead of being here we're using the time to make some extra cupboards on the Ora et Labora. It also means we have the time to finish things off, gluing the plinths under the sofa, hanging painted doors and drawer fronts and making a hole for the stove pipe through the ceiling planking. A nice way to start the year.
Em made a big sheet of shortbread for Claudia's birthday and a few people made it through the snow to eat it.
I'd filled the cooling system, replaced the water pump impellor and had a date with the bridge keeper for 1000 this morning. Then the temperature dropped to minus eight.
I drained the cooling system and the pump and this morning cancelled our appointment with the bridges. It's now snowing hard again, almost up to the top of Polo's legs again.
